who i am (and why i’m here)

Welcome to my little corner of the internet—I am so glad you’re here.

To know me is to know that I love a good plan. Whether it’s coordinating a big event, mapping out a vacation, or just curating the perfect family Saturday, I’m in my element. I usually love the anticipation and the build-up just as much as the main event, and I’m usually totally okay with that (It’s all about managing expectations, right?).

I love to work, but the second I step away, I try to fully embrace all the other parts of my life. I’m a real, have my cake and eat it too girl. Whether its my job, or the title of wife, mom, friend, and daughter, my identity lives in all of it — and I love every part that makes me who I am.

As an Enneagram 8, I tend to run on high drive. I’m a goer and a doer and if I’m not being productive I’m failing. Super healthy, amirite? BUT, I’m learning to find joy in the smaller moments. Saturday morning coffee shop dates with the kids, week night drinks on the patio with my husband while we read our books after the kids go to bed, spontaneous lunches with my coworkers. Even at 32, I’m still learning who I am, what I enjoy, and where I want to spend my time and energy. I’ve had to be brutally honest with myself (with the help of a good therapist) to get to where I’m at. That raw honesty is actually why I started this blog under my maiden name. As much as I love sharing a last name with my husband and kids, giving up my old one felt a bit like losing a piece of myself—and I wanted a space to hold onto her.

Life is so beautiful, but it’s also heavy. A few years ago, I lost my dad unexpectedly, and that grief absolutely rocked my world. It was right in the midst of my journey with infertility and It changed how I view everything, and it also solidified the motto my husband and I live by: Live it well (yes, the Switchfoot song). We only get one shot at this life, so I’m here to live it fully, anchored by my love for Jesus, a passion for comfortable fashion, and a deep appreciation for bean and cheese burritos.

This space might feel a little random, because it is. You’ll see what recipes I’m loving, clothes I’m buying, and probably some unfiltered opinions on current events. I spend a lot of time thinking and creating, and I figured it was time to start sharing in case it’s helpful for others in a similar season of life. This space really is my love letter to life, and I hope you find a little something that makes you smile today.
